Threads App Users Engagement Drop by 20 Percent

Despite the massive increase in users in it one week of public launch, the Twitter rival has begin to see daily decline in users activities. To be straightforward, Threads app has seen 20% decrease in daily users activities. The dedicated Instagram’s social app is also experiencing a 50% decrease in every 20 minutes to 10 minutes in the amount of time spent on the app.

This analytics was share with CNBC by leading marketing intelligence firm, Sensor Tower, which also reveals that the user’s engagement decline started on Saturday, July 15, 2023. Surprisingly, Threads app got a boost of 30million users in it few hours of it public launch. Now, the app has increased massively in users to over 100 million users.

However, despite all these figures, it is now obvious that Twitter is not Threads only competition. Although, the Threads app has done well with 100 million signup but it still have to cut the attention of users not only from Twitter but similar social platforms including Instagram, YouTube and TikTok.

Elon Musk is making move to drawback the attention of Twitter users by activating a revenue-sharing programme for verified users and filing a lawsuit against Meta’s Threads for acquiring staffs who allegedly shared Twitter’s trade secrets.

However, according to 2023 analytics by Oberlo, users on Threads app spend averagely 10 minutes everyday, Tweeters spend an average of 34 minutes on Twitter, while TikTok and YouTube have their users scrolling for almost 60 minutes and 50 minutes respectively.

Furthermore, many users have revealed that Twitter is more interesting and they’re never going to let go of the bird app. Surprisingly, data revealed that some users find the use of hate speach on the app interesting and that’s what they’re missing on Threads app.

In addition, some users have claimed that they seems to love Twitter’s controversial and combative nature. Moreover, these are what are never going to be acceptable by Meta owned social platform including Instagram, Facebook and Threads.

Head at Instagram, Adam Mosseri said Threads isn’t aimed at rivaling with Twitter, rather, “the goal is to create a public square for communities on Instagram that never really embraced Twitter and for communities on Twitter (and other platforms) that are interested in a less angry place for conversations, but not all of Twitter.”

Last words: Threads is still in it early stage, and Meta is probably going to enhance the social app with more advancement and exclusive features. However, according to user’s opinions, Twitter is revealed to be more interesting than Instagram’s Threads app.
