Nigeria to Launch a New Satellite for Security in ABUJA, NIGERIA – The National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) has unveiled its ambitious plans to acquire a state-of-the-art high-resolution satellite, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at addressing critical national security concerns. The announcement was made by none other than the Director General of NASRDA, Mr. Halilu Shaba, who was represented by Dr. Sadiq Umar, the Director of the Centre for Satellite Technology Development (CSTD), during the prestigious 7th annual lecture of the Nigerian Institution of Space Engineers (NISEng).
Shaba emphasized, “You can pinpoint using 0.5 to 1 metre resolution, and we don’t have a space asset that is of that resolution.”
