ECOWAS has given graduates from across West Africa the privilege to parttake in it immersive internship programe. This move is aimed at enhancing the professional integration of recent graduates by offering them with the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of ECOWAS programs.
However, the Economic Community Of West African States‘s Internship Program’s participants will be urged to contribute their insights towards the effective implementation of the institution’s programs and activities. This is indeed a simultaneous opportunities for West African Students.
According to document uploaded on ECOWAS’s portal, there are various positions accross different field which Interns can apply. Meanwhile, this internship program is only available to graduate under the age of 32 who must be from the ECOWAS Member States.
Internship Objectives
The ECOWAS Immersive Internship Program 2023/2024 is offering an opportunity for Interns to immerse themselves in the operations of the regional institution, including its Institutions, Agencies, Departments, and Resident Representations.
The program is also aimed at building a structure that lets young graduates to actively parttake in the execution of significant ECOWAS programs across various Departments, Agencies, Representations, and Institutions.
In addition to ECOWAS’s 2023/2024 Internship Program objective, West African Students (WAS) will gain valuable professional experience to aid in their career advancement and contribute to the successful execution of ECOWAS programs.
Application Requirements
- Applicant must be a graduate under the age of 32.
- He/She must be a citizen of the ECOWAS Member State.
- Bachelor’s (BSc), or Master’s, or PhD, or Equivalent certificate is also required to apply for ECOWAS’s Immersive Internship Program.
Application Process
If you’re interested in applying for ECOWAS Immersive Internship Program, you’ll have to submit an application letter to the ECOWAS Commissioner for Human Development and Social Affairs.
However, do make sure your application letter outlined your areas of interest, motivation, preferred profile, desired immersion region, and agreement to comply with program legal terms and conditions.
Furthermore, ECOWAS Member States requires applicants to submit a curriculum vitae (PDF), a copy of a national ID card e.g Driver’s License or ECOWAS Passport in PDF or JPEG format. Moreso, copies of academic certificates or their equivalents in PDF format must be included.

It’s important to let you know that not all applicants will be selected. Meanwhile, chosen ones will engage within ECOWAS Departments, Agencies, Permanent Representations, Institutions, or other designated locations for a maximum duration of one year (12 months). Upon completion, all interns will be requires to submit a report.
